MJ's gone

I saw the memorial service online. Even in death MJ smashed all records. The most viewed and talked about thing online. He now has 7 million fans on Face Book, 2.5 million song downloads, 9.7 million live video streams were watched on CNN, 500 million hits on the Memorial Service registration site, etc etc.

Brooke Shields surprised me with her remembrance of Michael Jackson. She was seriously close to the man. If a woman got on that well with me I'd marry her. laughter was the most intimate thing they shared, it seemed. To MJ, that was a very big deal.

Magic Johnson was blown away not by he stuff that blows most of us away, but by MJ's penchant for KFC. How the heck do you stay fit enough to do what MJ did, if you even look at or hear about KFC chicken, much less chow down on the stuff. But that crap is hilarious.

Smokey Robinson, remembering a 10 year old boy schooling his famous ass. That too was hilarious.

I feel for MJ's daughter Paris. I could only imagine how my daughter would feel in that circumstance. In spite of my many blunders and shortcomings, B'Elanna idealizes me. She called me a superhero the other day. While it's flattering, it's kinda sad from my perspective. Cuz one day she's gonna have to realize exactly what I am.
But for Paris, her daddy was the king of pop, saving aids patients, burn victims, famine victims, poor people and so on.
MJ was credited today with making superstars out of athletes and entertainers that would otherwise have been snubbed, if not for the celebrity of The Jackson 5. He was honored and exonerated by the US congress. MJ is seen in retrospect as kind of like the Bruce Lee and the Elvis of the black community. MJ is remembered as an ambassador of charity and goodwill.
Paris can actually have such a larger than life image of her father, and know that he can measure up. It's just that much more a loss I think. The fact that I have never seen her face till today, tells me that MJ was a great father. Sparing his kids the downside of his own celebrity, but they retain many of it's benefits. Way to go MJ.

I think it would be a crime to not still do the concerts and the Las Vegas show. Since the 25 anniversary of Thriller has other artists doing some of the Michael Jackson classics. I see it as being doable, and enjoyable.

Exactly like in the "Dark Tower" series I'm A big fan of Stephen Kings.

1 Corinthians 6
2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?
Crap. I would have to toss a coin between Voyager and TOS. Those two shows are actually more alike than people realize.

Hey there Toulon!

I dont know if you remember me or not, but you helped me talk to my dad about my Mom passing awhile ago. it really did help a lot.

Dad's more open and he's not as sad anymore. I'm still sad yes.. but it's life y'know? I just wanted to stop by your page and say hi.~

Wow. Now I just wish I could help out my own daughter with her problems. But I already know what she needs. Just don't have it. But hey! It's totally excellent of you to get back to me with this. What you do for your dad is great.
